Latest update:
Well, my loyal followers,
my life continues to take new turns. Not only have I started
college, I am just finishing my 2nd year. And my new business venture is approaching 18 month's old!! How time flies when you only have 7 days a week to play with !!
The course - Coastal Zone & Marine Environmental Studies. Lots of juicy
information to take in about the worlds I already love, that is
underwater and Pembrokeshire. The business - Celtic Images (www.celticimages.co.uk),
a gallery selling locals photographer's work as well as my own and a
framing shop on the side. Life is busy, busy at the moment!
Fantastic ! As long as can keep all the balls in the air, it will
go swimmingly .....
The whole story :
From my birth in Poole, a town on the
south coast of the UK; to regularly staying with relatives in Cannes,
France; to my brother's wedding in Dallas, Texas; to visiting my parents
in school holidays when they worked in Southern Africa; I've always been
a bit of a traveller.
New places, exotic places, capture the
moment. My brothers and I could not help but be influenced by the
different and beautiful locations that we were taken to by our parents.
My mum took pictures all through our childhoods. It is no wonder
that we all progressed to having some kind of affinity with the lens.
We all take photos, one brother becoming a film cameraman, the other
an antique camera dealer.
And me ? After
many years of taking photos for myself, while working a regular office
job, I have re-found my passion. Leaving my old life behind, I
have been travelling the world, taking pictures.
And to do this I became a
scuba instructor. Which came first ? I don't know, but they have
intertwined very nicely indeed, thank you !
Just before I left the UK
on my last visit, I
started establishing myself in Wales taking photos of
Pembrokeshire. I only came to discover the area,
or Wales for that matter, in 2001 when my mum and dad moved there.
What a glorious place ! For all my travelling, I haven't seen half
of Great Britain. It's all on my door step, waiting to be
discovered, all over again by new eyes ! To discover how beautiful
the skies and coast line is, check out my other site www.lisagabrielle.co.uk.
I was in the
Caribbean, Turks & Caicos Islands, June
06-Jan 07, working as a scuba instructor, taking
a few pics when the job allowed. Now I have been back in the
UK nearly 2 years, dry suit bought and loving every minute I can get in the water, both marine and fresh (that's a whole tale in itself - check out my monthly updates). Me, cold ?? Only when the drysuit leaks !!
I even have my own gallery to hang my images and show off the wonderful underwater world to those who have never had the chance to visit it..........
